TAILOR BIRD — Vintage illustration, from John Gould’s BIRDS OF ASIA published in 1850. Only birdwatchers and ornithologists know if this bird still exists. This is ornithology before the camera.
A small bird is perched on a branch above a detailed nest that is carefully woven into the leaves. The bird appears to be attentively watching over the nest, which contains another bird taking shelter inside.
