Description

This figure of an ancient god is an embellishment of an indigenous Zapotec clay figure I sketched while exploring the Museum of Culture in Oaxaca, Mexico, where I lived for 14 years. This museum and the Museums of Anthropology in Mexico City and Xalapa, Veracruz, contain stunning collections of cultural works. The clay figures are my favorite.
