Description
At the end of a long, windy dirt road in the Tuxtlas of Veracruz, Mexico, I came upon a small homestead with this elderly man and his granddaughter. There was a broken down Plymouth parked just up the hill. The man told me not to try and hike down to the lake as it was very steep and muddy, and horseback was the only way to go. The tropical haze over the landscape was present everywhere in this region which borders the Gulf of Mexico on the Mexican side.
